I genuinely do not understand why a supposedly intelligent human being would spend an hour tarting themselves up to have this photo taken and posted to the internet.
What is it about attention from random internet strangers that is so compelling to these creatures?

Addiction comes in many forms.
It's money.
It's the "influencer" business model. They make money off of social media. They do this by getting attention.
This is also why being a "traditional wife" influencer is a paradox: these women are making money (some of them a LOT of money) by pretending that their husbands are the only ones who make money.
I mean even without money a lot of women will just do this for attention
For most it's just ego and self absorption. But in this case, maintaining her image translates directly to dollars. Book sales, live event tickets, meet and greets, podcast ads, fucking birch gold payouts from ben shapiro, the works.
Attention and validation.
