It's rich that Mike Johnson would say what he said considering he became a RINO faggot. I'll accept that gays were not the CAUSE of the fall of Rome but they seem to show up at the end of an empire's lifecycle. They also were prominent at the late stage of the Ottoman and Greek empires. Gays are a more of symptom of a fall of an empire. Or they could be opportunistic infection from the actual wound that kills the empire.
They're literally a cultural virus. Once your immune system has been compromised, you have no defense to keep their corruption from spreading.

Mike Johnson is a politician and as such was most likely using 'the gays' in order to shore up support from (Christian) Republicans and to conveniently distance himself from the Democrats, by invoking a parallel between the contemporary USA and the late stages of the Roman Empire. That's why his statements are so vague and half-baked.
A politician remarking on history means only one thing: crafting a narrative for their own gain.
