DeSantis really is trying to speedrun his own fall into irrelevancy and abandonment by everyone who hyped him from a random Governor to whatever he currently is.

He might manage to become a generic, stereotypical Right Wing politician still, but I'm sure the drop from Possible President to "random Congressman no one cares about" will eat his ego forever.
