This is the worst thing they can present to show me this guy is the most abhorrent criminal in the history of US politics?

The TDS-afflicted see him like Al Capone, with this being his tax evasion trial. He's just such a sneaky bastard he was able to weasel out of punishment for all his past evil deeds - but we'll get him this time, no matter the crime.
