I think this is to hurt trump. By releasing weinstein, people will be angry that a sexual predator is being let go. They will want to persecute trump even more because they see trump as a sexual predator too. They want to find trump guilty of something to make up for weinstein.

Also... weinstein and metoo is why we have ugly goblinas in shows and games. Some twisted reasoning that if they only have uglies in entertainment, there wouldnt be rape or sexual assault lol.
