Idioms.

Comedy.
Those are the only things acceptable for outright modification, only because it'd be things that 95% of consumers outside the development country would not even understand. Anything beyond that is destroying the creator's vision.
You don't understand, that's all we're doing. We replaced a joke in Japanese that wouldn't make any sense with one about misogynistic Gamergaters that the kiddos in America would understand. Just jokes man.
I don't want to even give them that at this point. Give me All Your Base over localization.
Exactly this. I wouldn't even let them have the foot in the door for translating idioms.
