It blows my mind that people could watch this year's Superbowl and not think the NFL is rigged. The only reason I tuned in was to see if they'd be as incredibly obvious as I was expecting them to be. They must think sports fans are absolute retards to not even attempt to hide how fake that outcome was.
I was really hoping it would/will come out it was all some sort of cover-up and Ohtani was going to get Pete Rose'd or something. I don't really even have a good reason why, just to laugh at chaos I guess.
It just seems totally insane that the interpreter would have had this level of access to Ohtani's money to do this. It seems far more likely that he was acting as an intermediary for Ohtani, and now he's taking the fall. At the very, very least, it seems like it was Ohtani trying to help cover the guy's losses, and wiring money to the criminal bookie, which is also illegal.
Seriously - why would the Interpreter have access to millions of dollars of Ohtani's money?
I think for me the media coverage surrounding him just makes me hate him. They just can't get his cock out of their mouth. I've never been a worship the superstar guy. It sucks for Ohtani, because I get the idea he's probably an okay guy. I'd much rather them just go back to blowing Bryce Harper instead, he's a total asswipe anyway so no loss hating him.
Ummm actually Japanese people don't gamble. They simply enjoy a stimulating game of "flick the lever and maybe some metal balls might come out" for several consecutive hours, then they go sell those metal balls to a shop that just happens to really want them and also be right next door as a complete coincidence.
It's all completely above board and has nothing to do with gambling. Just some good, wholesome fun.
Hundreds upon hundreds of American athletes, including the likes of Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan have been swindled out of money, so it’s not like this isn’t something that couldn’t have happened to him.
The reason that Ippei even had the access he did was because in the end, he was more like Ohtani’s personal assistant, to the point where Ippei is on record saying he spends more time with Ohtani than he does with his wife. Ippei was the one who actually set up Ohtani’s “MLB account” (the bank account that the Angels and now the Dodgers deposit his salary into), and had the login info.
That account hadn’t been touched from when it was set up in 2018 to when Ippei started illegally gambling in December 2021, and all of the IP addresses the logins came from were from devices logged to Ippei. Ippei would frequently pretend to be Ohtani to the bank to get money to gamble, and was the only person in Ohtani’s circle other than Ohtani that understood Japanese, hence why he was able to keep Ohtani’s financial advisors (Ohtani’s endorsement money goes to accounts supervised by them) away from the MLB account, because he told them that Ohtani wanted that account private.
The leagues themselves are gambling.
DraftKings, FanDuel, PrizePicks, etc.
Rigging games via referees to ensure the right payouts.
Sports are fake.
Ironically, the sport that admits it's fake, pro wrestling, is more real.

Players can in fact just choke, which is exactly what the 49ers did and have done for most of their existence

Japanese and taking the fall for your boss?

^This is exactly what really happened.
It isn’t and I don’t get why people wish it was

There’s a reason I linked the actual legal document in the title and not an article, it’s explains all of it for you, with texts and all

Unless you count their mahjong dens

Can't wait for the apologies and retractions from Deadspin types.
