I think a close second is that the policies (defund the police, affirmative action, anti-gun, climate change) negatively impact other (poor) people whereas the rich, gated supporters (with private security) get positive impacts (job offers/soros shekels/party invites). Even if the rich have to pay more taxes, I suspect its still worthwhile for them to keep their fake-righteous standing with their other rich contacts.
The trans thing is such a perfect example. My friend looks absolutely ridiculous as a "woman", and all these so-called medical "experts" enabled his delusions.
In the long run, is him looking like a weirdo actually going to help him deal with whatever he was going through? Almost certainly not.
Basically the medical equivalent of every absolutely terrible singer that walked into the lion's den on American Idol, getting their dreams crushed and humiliated in front of millions of people, all because their "friends" were too cowardly to tell them that singing just isn't their thing.
Or hell, the way millennials were raised to think anyone can be an astronaut, because boomers were too cowardly to break it to their kids that they're just average.
Luxury beliefs. Rich proglodytes who can just buy another car if the one they're currently driving gets stolen and then pat themselves on the back for the pity they feel for the car thief. Whose entire experience of "multiculturalism" is ethnic restaurants and festivals and cheap labor.
Yea, especially with vax and trans.
