It's far worse than that. The total amount of aid given to shit holes is into the trillions of dollars. That's not even counting the net deficit of entitlements vs tax revenue from these populations, or the cost of imprisoning them, or the cost lost productivity from the things they destroy and the people they kill. Without them we'd have explored every planet in our solar system and be planning missions to alpha centauri right now.
