I refuse to call this kind of death an overdose.
Apparently even vanilla drugs are being poisoned by fentanyl.
If I go to starbucks and ask for a coffee and I die because it had fentanyl in it - It wasn’t an overdose.
It's easy to OD on fentanyl: All you need is a few grains.
Problem is, it gives a tremendous buzz and it's highly addictive. Very tempting for a drug dealer to lace benign stuff like weed with it to create repeat business.
I mean - I don’t believe 90% of the fentanyl overdose victims WANTED to purchase or consume fentanyl.
Yeah, but a large amount of the stuff they did want to purchase was still drugs.
You can't be a victim when you were still in the process of doing something stupid, trusting someone in a shady industry, and then consuming something you didn't know enough about.
The "they are lacing tampons and regular items with it!" scare tactic is just trying to obfuscate that fact, because that's just evil for the sake of evil because it has no purpose but to kill people.
I agree. "Fentanyl poisoning" would be a better term.
The difference is that Starbucks is legal and you haven't been exposed to 19 years of "don't buy Starbucks, it's illegal and dangerous".
And it's been several years since illegal drugs have been getting cut with fentanyl. People know. This is not surprising. Yet they keep choosing to take this risk.
Druggies only have themselves to blame.
What sort of degenerate retards are downvoting this?
I too, weep for the mis-steps of the past...
Why are you comparing buying illegal drugs to buying coffee? If you buy shady shit from a literal felon, then yeah, you are asking to suffer harm up to and including death.
The problem is everybody wants to act like they're so cool they have access to clean drugs, and you can just do that shit and get away with it. But they don't.
It only says it was a drug thing.
If they are looking for dope, it's an OD. Fentanyl is just used to increase the strength of that stuff. You can also OD just by getting too pure a product.
