I was rewatching Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero today and it had me dead laughing that Bulma canonically uses the Dragon Balls to wish for BBL and other vain nonsense like that.

I would argue that all of those overused scenes he mentioned are intentional and meant to be "funny" in the self-referential way you explained...
The Planners/Animators know what they are doing and are anime superfans themselves.
I get that argument but at the same time it tells you something about their writing if that's all they've got across the board. I find it really refreshing for example when they've got a male protagonist that isn't useless and a cringey pathetic guy who's incapable of making a move on a girl. Most men are not like that in any capacity, this is why I like Isekai Nonbiri so much because the interactions he had between the girls was fairly normal. Then there's Shin no Nakama where he actually get's a real girlfriend instead of this endless back and forth for the sake of drawing out the plot and doing gags.
I don't care how much I'm downvoted I will attack those tropes and support anime creators that do something different lol.
