I'm still a couple hours behind but I've been watching Viva's Rumble stream covering the Fani Willis and Nathan Wade corruption. If you're not willing to watch everything, definitely find some highlights later if you can. It's wild.
Among other things: Wade claims that he never had a relationship during his marriage or after his separation (in 2023), but also that he did have a relationship with Fani starting in 2022, but also maybe starting in 2019. He also claims that he pays for absolutely everything with his business credit card and lets his tax preparer sort out personal expenses. He also claims that Fani has paid him back in cash for every one of their numerous trips together and that he has never once deposited the cash because why would anyone ever deposit cash? That's just silly. Tens of thousands of dollars is just walking around money.
But the best part, IMO, was when he tried to pretend that he didn't understand what public funds were, then claimed that he'd never been paid from public funds which the lawyer then had to clarify that he had been paid by his law firm which had been paid by Fulton County.
Now Fani's taking the stand and she's breathing fast and clearly agitated. It's probably going to be wild. These people are not smart -- I actually don't think they even think they did anything wrong.
*edit - holy crap, Fani's trying to claim that she never made a single withdrawal from her bank to make these cash repayments to Wade because she just always has a whole bunch of cash at home because she's a woman and that's what women should do.
Most people envision the Conservative <> Progresive spectrum as a tug of war, where the flag on the rope is pulled back and forth from one side to the other. This is how the Left sees it, and they think the flag pulling to their side is what counts as progress.
The reality is this: I want you to imagine a drill bit boring down into a block of wood. On the top of the drill bit is a Yin and Yang symbol, with Yin representing chaotic progress, and the Yang representing stagnation. As the conservatives and progressives go round and round "against" each other, the bit turns. The actual progress of society is the increasing depth of the bit as it bores down into the wood. The wood shavings that exude up out of the hole and fall away are the bad ideas. The "dustbin of history." And the reality is that if either the Yin or Yang becomes too powerful and dominates the turning force on the bit, then the bit will become unstable. It will flex, and bend, and even eventually break if the force applied to drive it becomes too unbalanced on one side.
Wise conservatives understand that society needs progressives. Progressives are the gas and conservatives are the brakes and ever so rarely the Reverse gear. The danger is squarely from the other camp: "Progressives" don't understand that they need conservatives. And not only do they not respect their necessity, they hate them and consider them to be outright evil. Progressives are constantly trying to unbalance the drill bit, and every time they succeed millions die.
I hate to break out to you, but all you've described is Progressivism. By your own description, Conservatism doesn't stand for anything. It's defined as the absence of ongoing "progress." "Progress," of course, is also undefined because it actually just means leftists in power. Progs and Conservatives are the fulcrum and lever by which leftist power is achieved.
Conservatism was a known false path 60 odd years ago when Rockwell first said the line I quoted above. It's time for a political position that stands for something besides leftist power.
