The graceful, beautiful type of female designs have massive appeal to women. It's like a classy way to celebrate feminine attractiveness. Sailor Moon is almost like Hello Kitty in terms of cultural staying power.

It's also what first got me into anime so long ago, so I have a massive soft spot for it, warts and all.
