Did they quote a TV show in a published court opinion?
The thing about the old days, they the old days.
WTF does that even mean? The entire US legal system is built on precedent; ruling the same way on similar cases ensures fairness and consistency. There has to be a significant reason to deviate from established precedent. "Yeah, I don't think that jives with modern sensibilities" doesn't cut it.
Usually the activist courts pay lip service to the rules while subverting them, I think this is the first time I've seen one come out and blatantly say "we don't have to follow the Constitution because it's not relevant to us anymore."
Fuck Hawaii. The natives there are racist and arrogant. Those islands would be a complete shit hole, just like Puerto Rico if not for the white man's tourism.
I actually saw this on Twitter as well, someone was arguing that British legislation from 1963 wasn't valid. No other reason than the age of the legislation was given.
Curious logic. Murder has been illegal for ages ... so now it's legal all over again?

It comes from ancient English tradition even, when decisions were made by travelling magistrates. A respected magistrate could not willy-nilly settle disputes on his wisdom alone. He had to lean on previous decisions of what was considered reasonable and fair by the people, which created a consistent fabric of common law and culture over generations.
So the regressives upending another cultural tradition like this makes sense... and it's the right thing to do - from a revolutionary point of view. Something I'm not sure the Right totally understands yet is that if we ever get the chance at a real revolution, we'll need to overturn decades of court precedents as well to make it stick. You can't just put "our" judges in and think the system will heal over time. You have to recreate the system. It's sort of like killing the monarch's entire extended family when you depose him. You can't leave anybody alive that could reclaim the crown. The left understands that.
Honestly these Judges deserve to have their heads on pikes. Too many have gotten comfortable with twisting the law as they please with zero accountability
They care more about the law than I do, and people like me do. They should keep that in mind. Policing is the only thing keeping me from them, and they're trying to get rid of that.
The sentence itself is pidgen, which is a recognized language in Hawaii.
The ancient ways of our people do no look at your history... Something something. It gets dumb and most locals yell at people who think they can pull that trick.

Suffrage is so last century.
