Reading redditors interacting with one another is so tiresome. They're always tripping over themselves to equivocate and make sure they can't possibly offend anyone in any way. Makes what should be a short convo take twice as long to read.
Yep. Look at all this garbage taking up half the post.
Edit: Since people think I posted this because I take it super personally. I really don't. I was telling a friend about dating, and mentioned it in passing. I was surprised to hear that he had a different opinion, and was curious about what the split was. I'm not asking for advice and I'm not venting. Obviously people are allowed to respond to rejection however they want. I always try to treat others the way I would want to be treated and that includes thanking people for taking the time to communicate with me even when it's something I don't want to hear.
Edit 2: Please note, I never said I was entitled to a response from someone, I said I preferred it. Yes, I do think a bit poorly of them, but the general response is that these people no longer care what I think, so I'm not sure why that matters. I'm also not out here 1) preemptively rejecting people 2) chasing people down when they don't respond, I very much respect their choice to not engage further 3) trying to feed my ego 4) looking for absolution. It's just a social nicety that I'm now realizing not everyone cares about. Thank you to everyone who shared their opinion without attacking mine (even if it was different), that's really all I was going for. I genuinely did not realize there was this much of a spread on how people felt on this topic.
