Its funny because of all the people listed among Epstein's friends, Trump is the only one who even slightly pushed back against him or worked to help the law.
You can say it wasn't enough or he should have done more, and I'd agree. But considering the laundry list of Leftist heroes who did absolutely nothing at the very least (and something beyond horrific if we are being honest), its one of the worst hills to die on trying to attack him.
They have to die on this hill, because it’s the one thing that’s so extreme and so widespread that even NPCs can’t just excuse it. Allowing Trump to be the one name that comes out clean is too dangerous.
Basically, the plan is threefold: hide completely what can be hidden, make the release of any names slow and confusing, and insist that Trump and other innocent parties are actually among the worst of the offenders.

I'd disagree. As far as I can tell, Trump kicked him out of his properties years before even his first conviction because he made an inappropriate comment to one of his employees, and then worked closely enough with the prosecutor on his child rape case that they didn't even need to take a deposition from him.
I'd say the worst thing he did was have too much faith in some of the swamp creatures (cough Barr cough) that were in charge of the justice system when Epstein Epstein'd himself.
He also let him back in later and either he or his wife was pictured with him so it wasn't sneaky, so kicking him out is mooted by his own lack of commitment to doing so.
As far as I know he also waited for a prosecutor to call him asking for help before working with him, rather than actively pursuing any form of justice against him when he obviously knew the guy was actively acting in evil capacities.
Like, his actions were so fucking bare minimum that I'm not going to lionize him just because the bar is that fucking low. But he did at least do something, which is more than basically anyone else named in this entire affair.
