Holy crap. The museum destruction is bad enough... until you see that everything that was around the building is completely gone. It looks like the city was bombed.
Edit: Apparently that is a really old part of town, with two hundred year-old wood buildings. (some are said to be 1000 years old) The museum is newer and looks like it had a sheet metal frame.

Compare the google maps link I just gave you to the photos in the article. Absolutely nuts. That area was demolished.
