It's just capitalizing on an opportunity, kind of like how the WTC was bombed several years before 9/11.
There's no conspiracy about the events surrounding the 1993 bombing. Al-Qaeda hit a target, and originally intended to destroy the towers entirely. It was a complete and total intelligence failure by the US security establishment; almost as big as 9/11 itself. With 9/11, they saw it coming and failed to act. In 1993, they didn't see a fucking thing.
It's the same reason FDR didn't order the Japanese to bomb Pearl Harbor, but his actions (and the Navy's actions) were criminally negligent.
FDR wanted a war with Japan. He didn't want the Pacific fleet to be nearly wiped out. Had Japanese pilots been more disciplined (a shocking failure on their part in retrospect), they very well could have effectively won the war with the US in Pearl Harbor. Yes, we know he was provoking Japan for a war by whatever mechanism he could, but the outcome of Pearl Harbor wasn't it. It was too devastating, and too complete of a disaster.
We know what real false flags look like. They don't undermine the security state, they reinforce it. A small action, hyped into a major scandal, developing a causus belli for a war that was clearly already prepared for in advance.
This, WTC, and Pearl Harbor all have a completely different problem: they are absolute and catastrophic failures to the security establishment, that shows crippling weaknesses in preparedness and strategic thinking, while leaving a major moment of vulnerability open to follow-up attacks that the attackers didn't exploit, because they never expected to have such a success. With Pearl, the Japanese did follow-up because they are professionals. AQ thought they'd be shot down long before they reached their targets.
In all 3 of these cases, the attacked party was completely caught unaware. Netanyahu is emphasizing "tragedy" because if he doesn't, he looks criminally stupid. He has to act tough, because if he doesn't the Israeli Left will eat him alive. Remember that he has a major constitutional crisis on his hand with the judiciary. His enemies are still operational.
The jury's still out for me on exactly how much the authorities knew about Pearl Harbor and 9/11. You make a persuasive case they were not false flags, but again the suspicion is not true false flags like Operation Northwoods, but rather that advance warnings of an attack were deliberately ignored.
Regardless, Netanyahu is not allowing a good crisis to go to waste. The Israeli hard right regards the Palestinians like animals, and the time for ethnic cleansing is now. As with previous military operations, the human collateral damage will be dumped in Europe as much as possible.
I agree that that is an objective, but it should still be rebuked.
My point, primarily, was that this shows all the signs of a major intelligence failure, and the implementation of a very successful strategy by Hamas, (after being armed with American weapons from Afghanistan) than any sort of genuine false flag attack. Operation Northwoods is actually a good example for my point, since it was rejected for being totally insane. There is no reason to kill 10,000 people in a nationwide bombing campaign. Especially when you contrast that with the USS Maine, which were simply spun by the press to push for a war.
