Apparently the Steam Workshop can be pretty based.

The user base has been getting increasingly based and seemingly has fewer fucks to give than they did a few years ago, and it's glorious to see. But the moderation and administration has moved in the opposite direction.
Can you elaborate?
I recently picked up Rimworld so I'm curious to hear the history you're referencing. Or were you just referring to Steam's user base more generally?
Yeah sorry I just mean the steam user base generally. Used to be when a game with an obvious agenda came out people would dance around the subject and the soy apologists made up a sizable chunk of the vocal users. Now you typically find some variation "oh fuck off with this woke garbage already" is the most active thread in every new release and it's only like 20% apologia.
Plus there have been a few games that decided to release censorship patches out of the blue recently and they gave gotten absolutely destroyed in the reviews for it
Rimworld's user base is a little based. And Tynan, the lead dev, is apparently a free speech advocate.
I've been able to drop some redpills in the Rimworld discord with some positive response.
