The original Baldur's Gate games are classics and very much worth playing. And there are no gay romances in them period.
However, if any game can be blamed for introducing the idea of romances in RPGs, everything annoying about them, and players' unhealthy obsession over them, it's definitely Baldur's Gate 2.
EDIT: I just remembered this isn't entirely true. While the original version of Baldur's Gate 2 had no gay romances, the Enhanced Edition that you're more likely to find now brought in some new companions, two of which can be romanced by a same-sex protagonist: Hexxat and Dorn. Don't know how they work or how they're written, but all the new characters in general are pretty divisive among fans, and Hexxat in particular is widely disliked, so it's probably best to ignore them.
Hilariously though, Hexxat is also a complete self-own. She's a lesbian, yes, and a BLACK one at that for double the points, but she's also an EVIL vampire who specifically PREYS on young women to sate her thirst for blood. The mission to recruit even involves letting her drain and kill a victim she has mind-controlled.

I've been on a 15 year long project of trying to forget everything I ever knew about that game so that I can get to experience it all again some day. I wouldn't even know how to describe it now. Just know that it is some of the best writing to ever grace the CRPG genre.
It doesn’t force you, but every single character companion offers to fuck. All of them, regardless of gender. There is no bros hanging out camp options unless you want to suck the man piece.
I've found it to be pretty fun and enjoyable, and I don't usually do this style of game. You aren't forced into any romance but you might accidentally trigger some dialog, as the characters are playersexual. It's not hard to avoid and you can reject a character if that happens.
If you like turn-based games and an OK story (it's not bad, but I'm not jumping to finish it yet) I'd pick it up.
Overall is this game worth downloading or should I get earlier versions? Does it force you into gay romances or you can choose?

Ha, they've unintentionally brought real life lesbian grooming into the game: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2012/apr/20/staceyann-chin-straight-women-thrill-me
Get earlier versions.
Just go back to the original saga. It should be on your list of games to play before you die along with Planescape: Torment.
Planetscape? What’s that about?

Ok, I’ll check it out

Tfw just want to hang out with a friend and he keeps dropping his pants
Yup. There’s only one character who won’t suck the girl cock but he’s in act 3 and defaulted to a weak class. Worth respeccing though.
Bro job Choo choo

Cool! Thanks. I have some other games I’m working on but I’ll get it in a few month
If there's a story and you have companions, they're there to suck your dick. Basically. So IDC about this.
