Getting rid of employee obligations is getting rid of one of the few ongoing obligations they are not able to just stop paying overnight. It seems like pre-bankruptcy behavior rather than an attempt to correct anything. This is compatible with them swirling the toilet for a while now.

I could imagine Best Buy buying the IP/trademarks/etc and doing that, rebranding their video game department.
