Everyone laughed in that episode of Futurama where the robots rebelled and the humans had to relearn fire and the wheel. It's not so funny now.

South park's B-plot in the last episode touched on this topic as well. The regular maintenance guys were all rich as fuck since everyone else didn't understand how to do simple repairs of their own property.
