If you were involved in many 2A communities, support of police was always a deeply divided issue, since both sides knew that cops would ultimately be the ones to carry out any kind of gun control measure.
I think it can be conditional - support local guys that are doing the right thing, sheriffs etc, support efforts against organized crime, but don't support fedrats and call out your guys when they overstep.
Strategically you don't have much of a choice. Even if ACAB you've gotta throw in your lot with whoever holds power in your town. But hopefully your sheriff is one of the good guys.
