Everytime they bring up “chattel slavery” I throw this, mass castration, and sex slavery back in their face. Chattel slavery was essentially serfdom with cash crops. That’s why there’s still a former slave population in western countries which is magically nonexistent in the rest of the world.
The best I can do is get someone to acknowledge slavery was all over but they still stick with black slavery in America was the worst mindset. Even in the U.S. some slaves had better treatment than others and some stayed on their former master’s property after slavery ended. My gg grandfather had it a little better since he was the illegitimate son of the master.
All that to say that you really don’t want to go down the path of who had it worse. I’ve heard some pretty gruesome stories about African slave owners or what happened to white slaves
