Yesterday, after work, I went to the store to take just the flu shot, told the person injecting me to give me an extra bandage, which was branded with the logo of the store, put that bandage on in the bathroom, and went home.
Mom asked me where I went, I told her I took the shots, showed her the bandages, she asked if I had my card, I said I did but she never asked for it, and then I went on with my day.
I’m still waiting to see if the shoe drops and she asks to see my card within the next few days, but if that happens, I’ve taken all of you guys’ advice into account, but so far I’m good.
I did it this way mainly because my appointment time, but Mom wasn’t mad or anything that I went without her, last night was just a bit hectic, but hopefully it’s over for now. I’m still looking for places to move, as I definitely don’t wanna deal with this again, but damn, I didn’t know that lower income housing had waiting lists.
Yes you can walk in to almost any pharmacy or doctor's office and get the current flu shot, for free if you have health insurance. (and sometimes even if you don't) We are continuously bombarded with radio and TV ads and our bosses at work telling us to do so. It is typical in corporate or academic settings for an annoying coworker to ask first thing in the morning "HEY THERE DID YOU GET YOUR FLU VAXXINE?!" People like the OP will also have family members reminding them until they get it every fucking year.
Where do you live that this is not normal and can I move there?
Poland. Come over, you are welcome, bro. I don't know anyone who would hear all this and consider it anywhere close to "normal" holy shit.
I think we get like 2 vaccines as children, its probably poison and definitely useless. I've had 6 total shots in my whole life because i travelled to Asia and the doctor fucked with my head. I know better now.
Yearly flu shots sound morbidly hilarious and I really feel for you guys:( No vaccine was ever needed for anything. They are all a fucking scam.
