Unlike Jamieson Price, who openly stated he would not return voice Sado "Chad" Yasutora because "he no longer auditions for PoCs," it sounded like Wendee Lee was excited to return to the role of Yoruichi for Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War.
Except she didn't. Someone else is voicing her now.
UPDATE: Apparently, it's now Anairis Quiñones voicing Yoruichi. You know, the girl that's quickly becoming known as a racist job-stealing diversity hire. Who got heavily called out because of what she said about the casting of Gundam: Witch from Mercury.
I learned Spanish and I may end up learning French for work. There is a part of me that wants to learn Japanese just for anime and manga in the original language but that would be a major commitment
I took two semesters of Japanese in college. No. Kanji is a bitch.
It really only works if one has the brain for it. I haven't had issues with Japanese or Chinese, as I learn better visually and they are visual languages compared to the abstraction of European alphabet-based ones.
The real hard part is remembering the pronunciations for every hanzi/kanji and the meanings of some kanji combinations. There could be only two ways to say something, or twelve. It's jarring depending on what you're wanting to convey.
Even though kanji is a bitch, you can still get by learning basic vocabulary and grammar - at least oyu'll be able to pick up spoken Japanese that way.
Thanks. Can you get by in an emergency at least?
I can still read hiragana and katakana. Unfortunately, I haven't held onto a good chunk of the vocabulary that isn't common.
The large number of homophones make is so stupidly complicated.
Honestly, I tapped out before I got the Kanji just trying to understand grammar and sentence structures. It just was at such odds with my brain that I couldn't even crack into it.
Spoken Japanese isn't too difficult as the functional vocabulary for normal conversation is relatively small. Written Japanese, however, is arguably the most difficult written language, so manga in Japanese is a Mount Everest goal.
Thanks for the heads up. Guess I can still learn French for French comics
