Unlike Jamieson Price, who openly stated he would not return voice Sado "Chad" Yasutora because "he no longer auditions for PoCs," it sounded like Wendee Lee was excited to return to the role of Yoruichi for Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War.
Except she didn't. Someone else is voicing her now.
UPDATE: Apparently, it's now Anairis Quiñones voicing Yoruichi. You know, the girl that's quickly becoming known as a racist job-stealing diversity hire. Who got heavily called out because of what she said about the casting of Gundam: Witch from Mercury.
It really only works if one has the brain for it. I haven't had issues with Japanese or Chinese, as I learn better visually and they are visual languages compared to the abstraction of European alphabet-based ones.
The real hard part is remembering the pronunciations for every hanzi/kanji and the meanings of some kanji combinations. There could be only two ways to say something, or twelve. It's jarring depending on what you're wanting to convey.
