I know there are more, let’s make the list
Israel should stop building settlements. The fact that they still have settlements was always a blatant middle finger to any reasonable peace process.
Somehow Russia annexing portions of Ukraine is a casus belli and makes them monsters, but Israel doing the same to Palestine is ok because…… “it was historically our land” (the same excuse Russia used)
The US and nato lost all high ground when they split Kosovo off of Serbia and militarily occupied it under the guise of ethnic Albanians needing protection. When putin does the same in Crimea its not okay.
It stopped that a long time ago. The 'expansion of settlements' you hear in the media are just building extra houses and facilities to account for the natural increase of the population.
The fact that they don't pre-emptively give the other party everything he wants is a middle finger to a 'peace process'?
Guess what, they dismantled all their settlements in Gaza in 2005, which is what you wanted. Apparently, that didn't stop the Gazans from trying to murder them and to behead babies.
Yeah well, tough. Maybe they should've stopped doing that.
You know damn well that's not everything Hamas wants. Lol.
Israel obtained much of its land through perfidy and terrorism. Settlements should just be off the table.
Like they did in Gaza in 2005? That sure worked out well.
Well yeah. So why pretend that it's their fault because SETTLEMENTS? And what sense is there in unilateral concessions to a side that is bent on killing you?
Why? It's a weird thing to say.
Building settlements show that Israel doesn't care about the current residents of the land, which continues a historical pattern of not caring about kicking people off land - a campaign that invented modern terrorist bombing as we know it. This, in turn, undermines peace negotiations a priori. To say this doesn't matter is to spurn negotiations as a whole.
