A couple of days ago I have posted about how this show is not worth your time, based on two of three total episodes.
Maybe the first two were written by a woman and the last by a man, but instead of a lot of boring talk by a lot of boring characters you get a lot of action in ep3. While it is still TV-show quality, some of it is pretty good.
If we got just ten minutes of what is most of ep3 in the previous two, with less talk and less angry ugly strong women the show could have been quite good.
Is somebody paying you to watch? Are they holding your family hostage and will kill them if you don't watch every episode of the Continental?
Because I simply don't understand why you would keep watching something that is clearly bad or pozzed.
They keep making this shit because you people keep watching. But I guess consoomers are gonna consoom.
It has Mel Gibson in it so I thought it could be good since he's hated by all the right people. It wasn't.
Sometimes I keep hoping, even though I should know better.
With this one it is completely justified, even with a better third episode.
That's still terrible writing, for ANY intro to media, the writing needs to hook you in on something even (or especially) if it's a misdirection (In anime examples I'd give is Oshi no Ko or ReZero while regular shows I'd go with The Expanse making you think it was just about Earth vs Mars with belters in the middle)
Most people have a 1 episode rule so if you have a shit intro that kills a large portion of your potential audience, it's why Firefly fans hate Fox because them playing it out of sequence ruined it gaining popularity.
If I don't give a shit about any of the new characters, that is terrible writing, agreed. They could have cut down the number of them by half, and flesh out the remaining ones to be actually interesting.
You saw 2 shit episodes and continued to watch this? What are you even doing?
Sometimes I keep hoping, even though I should know better.
Famous last words by the Frog to the Scorpion.
Instead of watching two episodes of bad American TV, I simply watched four anime season premieres this week instead.
Never got into anime except some of the normie ones like Akira, GitS, Fist of the North Star, and so on.
Got any good ones to recommend with gore and tits? There is a serious lack of both these days, maybe you will get me hooked.
The old 1997 Berserk should be decent for gore, but I'm not sure where to send you for titties that's actually good and not just straight ecchi/hentai.
Made in Abyss - A cute small girl delves deep into a cursed cave with her robot companion in search of her mother. Two seasons with a movie in between that bridges them, gets continuously more horrid as they descend deeper into the abyss.
Redo of Healer - A guy who can heal any wound but also picks up all the memories and abilities of anyone he heals gets drugged and abused by the other heroes for years, then he gets a chance to go back in time and plots his revenge in the form of lots of violent sex crimes. One season, unlikely they'll ever make a second even though the story isn't totally resolved.
Interspecies Reviewers - A group of adventurers figure out they can make money by writing reviews of monster girl brothels and decide they're going to fuck their way through every species they can find. One season.
Akiba Maid War - A look back at Akihibara in the 90s when it was dominated by yakuza-style gangs of maids. No nudity but a ton of violence, one season.
I don't "get through" things anymore. I'm no longer a college student with too much free time.
Fair point.
I guess it goes to show just how underwhelming this series is when I haven't even heard it waa already underway, and I'm a fan of the John Wick movies. Perhaps it's just as well. Popular franchises being adapted into a TV/streaming series doesn't usually end well, especially in recent years.
The third episode shows that they could have made a good miniseries.
Any show where you have to plow your way through shit to get to good stuff is not worth it. Also, what is with people watching shows they hate written and produced and marketed by people who hate them for kicks? Maybe I am just not a masochist.
Fair point, but I did not know this in advance. I took one for you guys so now you know to not waste your time with it, like I did.
OP, stop hate watching. I don't care if you're pirating or not, just stop giving this shit any oxygen at all. Let it die from apathy.
It was hopewatching. I should have learned by now.
Probably this show is using the same formula of a lot of action shows these past several years- "Tick tock": shit filler episode followed by good episode, then repeat.
It was "almost completely shit episode" - "completely shit episode" - "good episode" with this one.
It is a good idea to give the viewer something to hook them the first episode. What percentage of the episode that is will vary.
