I recall they also had a whole bunch of unflattering replies to that tweet (correct me if I'm wrong), so now these are all gone. this isn't normally possible, right?
I don't know what features presently exist, but there has been one for hiding replies. If they did, there would be a clickable icon at the bottom right corner of the tweet, to the right of the timestamp.
It was an ADL ad whimpering about the very guy it was founded for to defend - you know, that rape-murderer who tried to blame a black janitor, but even the KKK didn't fucking buy his story? That was the community note.
There's another one floating around now, though, on the same ad, lol.
The Community Notes system has a problem in that debate in a topic can be re-opened and if the consensus changes, the note can be edited or removed.
Sometimes this allows stupid shit like extremely petty Community Notes to take place, and sometimes this means that activists can mass participate on Community Notes to cause enough debate to remove it.
That note also seems to be off a bit anyway. "not just a small group of Jews that held authority in Roman society" : Jews had no authority in Roman society because they were jews. Hell, there's a reason it's called the Roman empire. Non-Roman Latins struggled to have any influence in the Roman Empire. "... but their religion as a whole". That's more accurate, but unsurprising. That's like saying a small group of Catholics control Catholicism. That's patently true. Institutional religions are institutional.

How much power does ADL have over Twitter?

I think when you do that, users get an indication that some tweets were hidden and option to view hidden tweets.
Don't have Twitter but was this the 'spicy' community note on the ADL everyone was talking about yesterday?
Was watching a livestream and it appeared to be something even on YouTube they were going 'can't say that on here but based'

Hahaha that is funny! The one thing I'll always praise Elon for is community notes, best thing to happen on social media for years!
Pedophile to boot given the White girl he raped and killed was just 13
Huh.
