The judge said that the lawsuit centered on public policy questions that are for lawmakers and corporations to decide, not the courts.

"If the plaintiff doesn't want to be invested in 'woke' corporate America, perhaps it should seek other investment opportunities rather than wasting this court's time," the judge said.

Amazing. A total disregard of both the Supreme Court decision and common sense.

Even worse:

However, Judge Bastian rejected these allegations and on Aug. 11 dismissed the case with prejudice, according to a court filing (pdf), meaning that NCPPR is barred from refiling the lawsuit.

With prejudice, of course. What a cunt. Judge Bastian, I wonder who put him in place...

Right, Obama!

My reading of this is a bit different.

This isn't a group of employees, or a civil rights org trying to sue for discrimination.

This is a group of investors who feel this descision will open Starbucks to legal challenges and fines which will reduce the value of their stock, and they're suing to prevent that loss.

The judge is basically saying "if you don't like it, sell your stock".

I don't necessarily agree, because this could very well be a scheme to drop the value of the stock so that a hidden partner can buy it up and profit later, for which there wouldn't be much legal consequences after the fact (cough Bud Light cough).

However, they do have alternatives, such as selling the stock or organizing other investors in order to remove the executives in charge of this policy.
