Just a simple question. I heard that HBO has let GRRM go due to the strike and according to him, he has written 75% of the book. If I was his publisher I’d be so annoyed with him. Had he finished the series prior to the end of the show it would’ve made a ton of money. At this point I’d try to convince him to let someone else finish it.
Anyway what is a game that we will most likely never see? I’ve heard Half Life and I want to say Elder Scrolls 6 but they insist that will be out
Knights of the Old Republic 2 is the one that most comes to mind. Brilliant but unfinished. Tons of cut content that fans have tried to re-integrate into the game. The story is great and unfortunately time and budget constraints meant the "real" story will never be completed in a satisfying manner.
I was particularly interested in Darth Nihilus who could have been so much more. The framework was there to have a really deep Planescape-tier story that never materialized.
Quite possibly the best tutorial/starter zone of any RPG game ever made.
Not sure I agree about Peragus. The mystery aspect is really fun the first playthrough, but once you know what happened it's kind of a slog. I had a save file that I used to start new playthroughs that started at Telos.
I might have nostalgia glasses on buy iirc I really liked it the first time through as lightside and was still enthusiastic on both my next lightside playthrough and my darkside playthrough.
Is that due to Disney taking over? I’ve always wanted to play KOTOR. Or get the single player game at least.
KOTOR is the single player game. The MMO is just TOR. And KOTOR 2 was long before Disney. Long before Mass Effect (oh wait, 2 was Obsidian rather than Bioware, wasn't it. Another sign of just a rushed sequel)
Got them confused. Thanks!
kotor 1 is close to perfect as a game
kotor 2 takes everything good about 1 and makes it 5x as big BUT because it is so huge if you try to grind straight through eventually it will turn into a slog
It is one of those rare games where you should intentionally limit your playtime to savor it. If you play it and like it enough then try the community re-build that tries to integrate the cut content and endings. I don't remember the link but this is a good reason to get it on PC instead of console.
Play 1 first though. It is good and gets you familiar with the d20 star wars system if you haven't played d&d 3rd edition.
KOTOR is basically one of the best Star Wars games ever made. It's hard to top. It basically gets Star Wars in a way few games do while not being afraid to actually - gasp - come up with new stuff to fill in the lore.
I like KOTOR2 more, though. It really did play around with the lore and go in philosophical directions you wouldn't really expect from a game about Space Wizards with Laser Swords. Some people have issues with that, but I love it.
Plus, it has Kreia.
SWTOR, the MMORPG... really, not gonna lie, while I have issues with some of the decisions made for some characters I like that only get mentioned in the background, I've got a weird, fond affection for the game. It's also got some really good story with some of the characters you can pick.
and best girl visas
I played 2 before 1 for whatever reason. I loved the amount of control and influence you had on your party members, turning some even to jedi was amazing. I doubt we will ever have a game like this again.
