Mario at least was just a dumb licensed movie for families and kids, in which people desperately tried to attach some political meaning to.

Barbie was outright admitted to be a political movie trying to say deep shit, and most people walked away not caring in the slightest about it and just enjoyed the memes and funny Gosling man.
