This has been the biggest own goal in a tactic that is extremely dangerous. Hopefully this makes them reluctant to try this again since thanks to this situation it's now in the public consciousness more and with their push for digital currency, it'd be bad for their plans if people on mass withdrew money and started using only cash because they were afraid their banks would screw them for saying something not pc enough.
Farage is an absolute master at this game. He could have come on too strong at the start and overplayed his hand, but instead he played it exactly right. Gave them enough rope to hang themselves, kept letting them lie and then releasing the proof that they were lying. Kept the whole story in the news cycle for weeks, despite the media's efforts to suppress it. The man is the greatest political organizer on the planet.
I wouldn't go that far, he probably also had some very sound legal advice who told him to keep his mouth shut until he had all the documents necessary to expose them. It was the request they made to the bank for those documents that finally nailed them to the wall after the BBCs bullshit claim.
It's not the first time he's pulled off this kind of coup. He put together an outsider political party that, despite all of the media efforts to suppress it, eventually began taking big enough chunks of the Conservative vote that they were forced to call a Brexit referendum in order to hold on to power. Then he played a big role in the victory in that referendum. And then, when entire UK political establishment coalesced behind Theresa May in an effort to scupper Brexit, he put together another brand new political party overnight and had them leading in the polls within a month. He did all of that with the same level of organization that we've just seen him use again. A lot of it really is him.
Yes and no, the problem with Nigel Farage is like Trump he has quite an ego problem and doesn't play well with others in the background. This translates to people often getting fed up and leaving because they can't deal with his bullshit. I'm an ex-UKIP member and Count Dankula did a bit of a rant on this and the drama he caused there.
The party was doing quite well for itself without him and they were getting things done but then he came along with Reform, essentially stole all the votes and yes this pissed off people in UKIP because he really did turn up out of nowhere after being silent for so long. Guy also tried to keep his EU parliament seat in UKIP even though he wasn't a member.
I don't hate Nigel Farage outright, but like Count Dankula I don't like some of the things he's done in the background and he does come across a bit of a twat in that area. If I were to somehow throw my weight behind a party again it would probably be the reclaim party and Lawrence Fox. I won't touch anything that Nigel Farage has to do with because of what he's done in the past. I reckon if he does happen to do an alliance with Boris Johnson he's probably going to pull a Nick Clegg and stab his own voters in the back.
Don't say I didn't warn you, I do have quite a bit of background info on this. Agent of chaos like with Trump? Oh sure, it's a good thing, but that's all I'd trust him for.
I am still impressed at the level of disregard for any sense of professionalism and ethics of these bankers in how they treated Nigel Farage.
They well full ''fuck it, he offended our cult politics, let's abuse our position of power to destroy his life. Make shit-up and break the law, the Right Side of Herstory demands it.''.

Coutts is a subsidiary of NatWest, whose boss yesterday also resigned.
Did they sniff a slam-dunk lawsuit with catastrophic consequences for them?
