It's not the first time he's pulled off this kind of coup. He put together an outsider political party that, despite all of the media efforts to suppress it, eventually began taking big enough chunks of the Conservative vote that they were forced to call a Brexit referendum in order to hold on to power. Then he played a big role in the victory in that referendum. And then, when entire UK political establishment coalesced behind Theresa May in an effort to scupper Brexit, he put together another brand new political party overnight and had them leading in the polls within a month. He did all of that with the same level of organization that we've just seen him use again. A lot of it really is him.
Yes and no, the problem with Nigel Farage is like Trump he has quite an ego problem and doesn't play well with others in the background. This translates to people often getting fed up and leaving because they can't deal with his bullshit. I'm an ex-UKIP member and Count Dankula did a bit of a rant on this and the drama he caused there.
The party was doing quite well for itself without him and they were getting things done but then he came along with Reform, essentially stole all the votes and yes this pissed off people in UKIP because he really did turn up out of nowhere after being silent for so long. Guy also tried to keep his EU parliament seat in UKIP even though he wasn't a member.
I don't hate Nigel Farage outright, but like Count Dankula I don't like some of the things he's done in the background and he does come across a bit of a twat in that area. If I were to somehow throw my weight behind a party again it would probably be the reclaim party and Lawrence Fox. I won't touch anything that Nigel Farage has to do with because of what he's done in the past. I reckon if he does happen to do an alliance with Boris Johnson he's probably going to pull a Nick Clegg and stab his own voters in the back.
Don't say I didn't warn you, I do have quite a bit of background info on this. Agent of chaos like with Trump? Oh sure, it's a good thing, but that's all I'd trust him for.
