I disagree. Why? Because none of the people angry at Small Town are actually angry at Small Town. They've never heard it. They've never even read the lyrics. They're just happy to be part of a bandwagon. It's pretend outrage at something they've never actually encountered, even secondhand.
Unless CNN tells them to be mad about something, they'll never care.
Tribalism. Leftists pretend to hate "bigots" because bigots are exclusionary and tribalist, but leftists have their own tribes that they will happily commit atrocities for. I'm not exaggerating when I say atrocities. See how leftists reacted to people suspicious of the jab.
