Because if they do the National Lawyers Guild and hundreds of other similar NGOs staffed too the gills with lawyers will overwhelm the legal system with lawsuits and amicus briefs and other such things to completely crush anyone contemplating such things.
And the right doesn't have any comparable infrastructure to fight that, so in the absence of a sympathetic court they'll be fighting an uphill battle.
Correct. This is what some of the intelligent Leftists noticed about MAGA and Bannon and had them worried. The MAGA movement has been going on so long, and been engaged in so much grassroots institutional change, that they are effectively creating a populist, activist, class. Such a thing is necessary for organized political action and affiliation.
The situation is not equal by any stretch of the imagination. They just noticed that it was happening, and were trying to warn the other Leftists not to let it get out of hand.
And while that is important, I fear that the MAGA movement still believes that raw popular support is enough to unseat institutional power, much like the Knights Of The Realm (Royalist Activists in France) did. They learned that popular support and grass roots activism without institutional power is best answered by a "wiff of grapeshot". Unfortunately, I believe something similar may still happen to the MAGA movement. I admit that I thought it already would have, but I'm not sure that the Fabians who lord over us are willing to stay Fabians.
If the left opened fire on a MAGA protest that would open the biggest can of ass whooping ever produced outside of a world war. People are one major incident from boiling over and our side has the overwhelming majority of armed and trained veterans and civilians.
I agree, but the question is whether or not the Fabian temperament has cooled.
And to be honest, it may have. In 2020, they were out of control, but as we've seen from the British Labour Party, they appear to be trying to push more right-wing aesthetics to try and politically solidify their control.
The thing is though, there are plenty of states where, as bonkers as it sounds, ballot harvesting is perfectly legal. Immoral and a huge security risk? Absolutely. But legal. In places where it isn't I totally agree though.
It's not impossible, but I dont consider that likely. It would put too much of a spotlight on a topic they would prefer most normies remain ignorant of. For all the talk about election fraud and fortification that might happen in these circles, the average American normie can't even tell you what ballot harvesting is. They would prefer to keep it that way.
Wouldn't that be a "heads I win, tails you lose" situation though?
if the right blacklists people with leftist political affiliations, we're fighting fire with fire and at least they're suffering the same way we do.
if the left challenges this in court and wins, it eliminates the tactic for both sides. As biased as the courts are, they're not going to publish a decision that says it's okay to blacklist conservatives, but not leftists.
I'm all in favor of leftists suffering, but you also have to acknowledge the asymmetry between the sides before you can come up with a course of action that has a chance of success.
Instead of not doing business with the reddit mod, I'd rather do business with the weird but smart guy who doesn't have any friends because he said the gamer word. Maybe try to prevent the demons from thinking he's a woman and mutilating himself. Build things up a bit, maybe get a few people personally loyal to you. Old ways of people dealing with each other.

Selective enforcement and legality for the left boil down to: "It's fine when we do it."
If they didn't have this double standard, then they'd have no standards at all.

You can’t use any methods like that when the population and media isn’t supportive.
You would instantly be demonized and lose even more ground.
