I guess there is the possibility that Theads was actually behind the supposed "unprecedented scraping" that caused the lock down, and it stopped now they launched. Meta either training their own algorithm to mimic twitter, or aiming to offer seemless cloning of your Twitter account if you want to transfer.
Or just trying to cause trouble so it'd be easier promote their own platform.
