It's been about three years since a successor has been rumoured. Every E3 a new Switch I would be announced. The news giants make big guesses on the power and games. Nintendoomed if they don't release it next to the powerful rivals that can't even seem to sell a console let alone make a good game. Then maybe an OLED version is announced and more games for the next year or so.
Eventually they will be right of course, but why believe them until it actually happens? I have a backlog for my switch and I fully intend to play that before I get another switch. Also, the console hasn't dropped in price, nor have many of the games in years. I was going to buy it when it hit $200 but eventually just bought one.
