I paid for the blue check months ago. Last night, my Twitter broke. Any attempt by me to do anything at all on twitter, liking, commenting, etc, is blocked, with:
"This request looks like it might be automated. To protect our users from spam and other malicious activity, we can’t complete this action right now. Please try again later."
Obviously this isn't legitimate. I've never done anything remotely to get flagged as "automated". This is on desktop.
On mobile, I don't get this message. Instead, my posts/replies simply "fail to send". If I click to like someone's post, it looks like it works, but then if I refresh, it disappears.
Reddit thread of this happening to a lot of other people: https://old.reddit.com/r/Twitter/comments/14o8gl0/error_code/?sort=top
update: 11am PST started working again
update2: 1pm PST broken again
Maybe this is just me, but do we go all "the end is here, REEEEE" the moment something is not perfect for a little?
I have serious doubts that anything can actually hurt Twitter. The Bluesky and Mastodon userbases alone will drive away anyone looking to jump ship, let alone the tech hurdle, and Zuck's metaverse disaster will suck up capital that could be put into the Meta competitor.
