Apparently his work is too 'manly'. No explanation was given for the trigger warning added by Penguin Random House or what content specifically set them off.
Aren’t they the ones opposed to book banning or censorship
Only when it's banning picture books teaching kids how to eat someone's ass out. Banning right wingers and good literature is totes cool.
Ha HA. Communist gets censored by communists.
I'm fairly certain most people who read his work know about the trigger he pulled. My teachers couldn't stop talking about why all his work was about suicide. Even when talking about fishing, and using fish as a metaphor for life, they think it was suicide.
Nothing can ruin a good book or short story more thoroughly than a "teacher."
Hemingway has been out of favor with fag-worshipping academics for at least 40 years.
"Warning, may trigger people who enjoy good literature."
Hemingway's wife did the reading world a favor when she had him effectively lobotomized with electricity.
I remember after reading the old man and the sea I was wondering why there was so much hype. Haven’t checked out his other books
Do yourself a favor and read his short stories. I especially recommend "Big Two-Hearted River" parts 1 and 2. "The Snows of Kilimanjaro" is the best story about death I've ever read.
