It honestly serves as yet another easy way to filter people. If I see a girl with a braindead retarded spelling of an otherwise normal name I know to stay the fuck away because she was raised by the idiots who spelled her name like that.
I had a friend (have a friend, but I wrote this thing in past tense) whose name was different in a different way. But anyways, he took his generic sounding (and properly and easily spelled) middle name as his first name and applied for some jobs. AFAIK people accepted that he was the same person, and he got better responses with the generic middle name.
Hailee is such a retarded way to spell that name.
Sometimes I am super thankful my language has one single spelling for every word/name.
Oh don't worry. America is currently working very hard to erase every other language and culture on the planet and replace it with their own.

It’s a surprisingly common spelling among young American “celebrities”…
Not sure why, but I can think of at least three, off the top of my head…
So… Yeah. Must be becoming more common, I guess!
