Maybe they're trying to kick off a faggot holobunga.

They're losing sympathy in the west due to them kicking the degeneracy dial up to pedophile, so they need a new victim narrative to gin up some fresh sympathy. Kicking the russian bear or the islamic world might get them what they want.

Them being a death cult would explain why they have no problem sacrificing their own to the all devouring god of self-victimhood.
