Reddit mods are a plague.
They weren't necessary to begin with. Only as janitors to clean up bot-spam. Never to patrol 'communities', because the up- and downvote system would have taken care of that.
Yeah, the up- and downvote system tends to create filter bubbles and groupthink subcultures.
