I don't know if this is woke, or just because its Fable.
Because from the original without much deviation onward, the characters in Fable have almost exclusively been butt ugly to a point of parody. That's why Lady Grey became such a meme to marry in the first, she is the only remotely attractive character.
I'm gonna go with a mix of both options.
It's definitely woke, but yeah Fable has always been full of ugly people. lol
