Since they got bought by Hasbro. I dunno when that actually is. There have been gameplay and aesthetic changes people didn't like, but the main rub now is profiteering at the expense of the brand. Which is 5b dollar company shit.
All companies are hostile to their fans, since the early 2010s. That's what all the consultants tell the CEOs at all their conferences and seminars "Your fans are toxic pieces of shit, here's how you can get new ones." Mysteriously it never works, yet they keep doing it.
They seem to be placing all of their bets on the white population of every country being replaced by blacks (and hispanics in the US), and they perhaps rightfully believe that starting to raceswap everything will garner them praise as they try to build a "fanbase" of blacks and hispanics who will become loyal consumers in the future....
You step back and take a look with even a tiny little objectivity and it's bizarre as hell. Trannies are like .001% of the population, yet Target was willing to torch their entire brand to entice that demographic? Are they insane? (yes). It's why lolbertarians are so stupid. No, these companies are not motivated by profits, they think because of the magic of free handouts and financialization, they are immune from market forces. They're driven by race hatred, pure and simple.
Yes exactly. Like there are these all-female groups of D&D players chomping at the bit to play a pretty pretty pink princess RPG. On fucking Mars. Lol.
Since the 90s, but they were more subtle then. They were infected with the first big push of what we called "PC" back then and never completely shook the stink.
I'll give you an example. One guy on the WotC discussion boards pointed out something about an update to the Forgotten Realms setting: with the death of the King of Cormyr, all the "good" rulers and most of the powerful NPC's were female (there were a few men like Elminster, but they were rare and more often than not more morally gray than the women) and all the villains were male. Most of the people on the board didn't realize it, but - something that wouldn't happen in this day - they had a rational discussion about it. That took place before 2000.
How long has WOTC been antagonistic towards their fans?

Someone said since Revised, so I don't feel that bad.
You got the point though, and I agree. Hasbro is the problem, but it wasn't that bad for a long time.
I would say at least since Revised, but I might be unusually angry.
1994 was a long time ago, so your anger is justified as you are just matching their long standing demeanor.

That or with majority male hobbies they are being told there is this mythical group of women just dying to enter the hobby

Yea i. The 90s or early 00s that wouldn’t have registered with me either
