They did qualify with "one of", and crime stats are usually weighed per-capita, so you could say it's more or less true. I don't know how accurate this is but here's few NeighborhoodScout ratings for comparison.
Not sure how fair that comparison is, because it measures the entire city averaging safe neighborhoods with dangerous neighborhoods. Some of us would rather judge a place by its worst areas.
