Everything she said can be applied to shounen male MC:

All of them are cut from the same cloth, usually a highschool unlikable kid who gets bullied until he gets a mcguffin and gains protagonist powers.
All subservient to their mentors (nude even being a punchline in a beach episode).
Even when they display competency they must be quickly foiled by defeat at the hands of a powerful new arc villain.
The sexualization (by shipping fujoshits) and objectification of their appearance plays into their role as action figure.

This isn't frowned upon by people who can tell fiction from reality.
