I mean, it was kind of fun, pre-Disney…
I never really cared about today specifically all that much, but it was a fun “IP” to immerse yourself in, at least, for a while there…
But then, I stopped caring about it by like, late teens, so… 🤷🏻♂️
Arguably better than the idiots who go all out for V for Vendetta in November, or (much more niche, but) The Fifth Element in a month’s time…
At least this one has funny elements too it/people go to an effort, though I admit it is much more commercialized…
Edit: I got the date for the Fifth Element “day” wrong. It’s the 5th of the 5th, i.e. today…
Vice shows the movie wall to wall, all day, on their Australian co-owned channel (Viceland)… Joy of joys.
It was alright once or twice. I could happily never see it again, though… 🤷🏻♂️
Oh, I don't mind Guy Fawkes Day as such...
I just hate the whole "we'll LARP as revolutionaries while wearing these masks, because it's the 5th of November" shit.
It's a damn movie.
Guy Fawkes day itself is fine by me though, lol. I've always loved Cracker Night-type stuff, when we got to do it.
