Disney are going to continue this trend of bastardisation. It could be argued that they were doing these live action adaptations to retain franchise rights but with the self damage they are doing with each one, that can't be accepted as a possibility anymore.
It's the systematic destruction of as much of western fantasy and lore as possible.
That's precisely what it is. They want to destroy the entire cultural mythos of the west . Your deracination is their utmost goal.
While stopping new things being created, it's very telling how hard they attack fanfiction.
Franchise rights? Aren't most of their classic fairy tales public domain?
Not fully sure, they do this a lot with their own franchises (Mikey being the obvious example) that they might have a similar deal with film rights to these tales.
